The Result of 2012 New Praise Youth Festival (Competition part) Louisville

Congratulations!

 First of all, We want to thank you all for your hard work and cooperation. It was amazing! We were so blessed by your beautiful heavenly music and so sorry that only we three adjudicators and your family were allowed to hear your music. We know it must have been a long day for all of you. Many of you might have had such a stressful day for the first time. But by now all of you may feel relaxed, thinking that you did better than you had expected, or it's just one of those things... One thing we know for sure is that you and your family would thank God for today's big event very much. We also thank God for this fantastic praise festival with all our heart and mind.
(Thank you, parents, thank you all the coworkers and helpers!)

Now, regarding the result, we have to confess that we hate to grade your music with human standard, for your music is primarily for God's glory and not for men's entertainment. Then how can we grade it perfectly? Actually God only knows your exact grade; He even knows you are doing a great job but today, because you were so nervous and anxious that some of you even wanted to give up. No wonder one girl even wept and hesitated to play until right before she did a fantastic job to the amazement of all the judges. (We thought she would surely mess up, but on the contrary she knocked our socks off!)

Then why is it that we grade your music? The only reason is we want to help you, help you understand more of musical beauty, help you discern even the slightest musical difference. By now you understand how difficult making beautiful music is. Yes! If you really want to give God glory with beautiful music, it will take your time, energy, nerve, talent, and maybe your whole life. It is an overwhelming job. That's why we want to help you. We want you to understand and feel what is more beautiful, what is more skillful, and what is more musical. However, your grade reveals only your musical aspect. We, adjudicators, are human who don't know your heart, your love to God, and your prayer. So please take your grade just as a musical guidance, and not more than that. What is incomparably important is that you do your best for the upcoming recital, for God will take time and be there to hear your praise music! And if you messed up today, no problem, for you have two more chances to straighten it up, or to surprize us, and we really want you to do that for the glory of God!

Sing to him a new song;
   play skillfully, and shout for joy.

(Psalm 33:3)

I will praise Godí»s name in song
   and glorify him with thanksgiving.
This will please the LORD more than an ox,
   more than a bull with its horns and hooves.
(Psalm 69:30, 31)
