Organ Praise (Volume 2)

Organ Praise for opening worship

Preface

This book contains three organ pieces which have a lot in common ,most importantly, the theme of praise and worship. For this reason, these pieces have been played at the beginning of worship services, and the title, "ORGAN PRAISES FOR OPENING WORSHIP SERVICES" was chosen.   The power of spiritual feeling inspiring the composition makes the music soar, arousing deep emotion in the listener. The forms of these compositions follow a similar pattern. A brilliant prelude leads the first and second verses. The third verse follows sonata-like development of solo organ with higher tonality. These end, after symphonic coda, with a mediative and lyrical postlude. The entire process is dominated by the solid common form like sonata flowing over the whole music. The form is certainly the reason. The composition inspires a congregation to reach new heights of praise and worship.
This music is ideally suited not only for worship services but also for organ concerts because these compositions demand, and so permit, a display of brilliant technique, allowing the organist to show the full power and possibility of the organ. As Psalm 69; 30 and 31 tell us, we are to witness to the glory of God in all things in the universe.
